Hello! I’m Emily, a passionate artist with a lifelong love for illustration. Ever since I was a child, I was always drawing something, whether it be my favorite cartoon characters, doodles on the margins my homework assignments, or comics.
It was only during my time homeschooling that I began to draw with intention, fully immersing myself in an artistic journey. This period of time sparked a deeper connection to my hobby, fueling my desire to hone my skills.
As I continue my journey, I have a strong intention of focusing on oil paints as my primary medium, using my knowledge of color theory to create atmosphere and emotion in portraiture.
Artist Statement
The timeless themes and techniques of classical art entitle such works to remain forever important to artists of the modern world. So important are these elements that recreating them would become my life’s goal. As I continue to study and observe, my hope is to one day create something so profound and with such perpetual impact.
Not only does classical art provide for me a goal to work towards, but an impactful learning experience, as with each piece, observations can be made of the culture which produced it- and through this, the past becomes ever more pertinent.
